A study of organic compositions, natural textures and unique botanicals
MSHWY01
Studio Mary lennox wanted to recreate a top view of an oyster mushroom. This rug is made out of the Chloequality, Soft New Zealand wool with glossy Tencel Lyocell that gives the rug a subtle shine. To give the rugextra depth and texture. JOV used a colour gradient from the inside out to the edges, combined with 3D heighteffects on the edges that makes the rug extra fluffy and impressive to see. The details in the colour gradientand the 3D piles on the edges makes it unique and shows our manual skills in handtufting.
MSHWY02
For the MSHWY02 Studio Mary Lennox wanted to create more of a flat rug and took inspiration from a clo-se up of the inner texture of the oyster mushroom. But still making sure that the depth in the rug matchesthe impressive brown one, the designer also use 3D effect in the white lines. It’s more a subtle 3D effect butnecessary to recreate the organic lines of nature. JOV end the rug with a fluffy thick border. This design ismade out of the Surmer quality, Merino wool with mercerized Egyptian cotton. Merino wool is more white andfresher than New Zealand wool, and by using the fresher Merino wool, the colour of the oyster mushroom canbe translated beautifully.
MSHWY03
MSHWY03 is a different, more zoomed out take on MSHWY02. Studio Mary Lennox saw this design as acluster of pink oyster mushrooms growing together. The pink oyster mushrooms are more rare and sensitive, they carry a unique soft tone of natural pink color which the designer wanted to translate in this 3rd design ofthe collection. The techniques are the same as MSHWY02 and for this design JOV also use the Surmer quality,Merino wool with mercerized Egyptian cotton. This quality gives the rug a very soft touch.
